Things are going great so far. Earlier this week we sent out our Survey's via Backerkit to collect shipping information and making sure everyone who wanted to upgrade to the Special Hardcover edition of FOBIA has a chance to due so.

Speaking of our "Behind the Scenes" Zine...

A lot of people have been asking what exactly is featured in out BTS zine, this digital magazine contains 160 pages of content! Including full scripts for all of our FOBIA stories, concept art, script to page notes and break downs, and insight and trivia about each of the FOBIA stories.

This is the perfect complimentary book for anyone who wants to know how we created FOBIA and what went into the process of making our horror anthology. Check it out if you get a chance!

In the next few weeks, we hope to have all our surveys collected and orders locked in, and then we will move into the next phase of sending out digital rewards and shipping out the physical books!

Soon, you’ll receive an email from us with a special link to your BackerKit survey. 

It’s important to respond to your survey as quickly as you can since we need this information to fulfill your rewards.

You don’t need to create a BackerKit account to fill out your survey.

When you receive the email with the survey, click the survey link to respond. Answer the questions about your reward preferences, provide shipping information, and purchase add-on items if you like. You don’t have access to this survey link yet, but it will be available soon via email!

After you respond to your survey, you can go back later and change your responses at any time before we close the surveys and get our final counts.

FOBIA UPDATE FOR SEPTEMBER

Greetings FOBIA fans,

Derrick Acosta here: Writer, Producer and Creator of FOBIA Vol: 1.

I'm here to give you a quick update of where we are at with the book.

It's been over 6 weeks since our last update, and last time I spoke to you all I said that we were just a few days away from launching out Backerkit page -- that is the fulfillment service we will be using to deliver the digital issue of Fobia to everyone, as well as collecting shipping information to send out the physical copies.

Well, there's nothing else I can say other than we ran into a few more delays. My apologies to everyone. 

I won't bore you with the technical details: it was just a lot of small hurdles to get through, and they piled up rather quickly. The final push in a creative project like this is the spot where the most problems arise. 

I think we handled all the major strokes of this work rather quickly, but the finer details needed our attention and there were many. So sorry to keep you all waiting.

I take full responsibility for the delays. 

Trust me, I wish we did not have to work on such a pushed back timeline, but here we are!

My philosophy on this book production has been to keep it cool, not rush our team, and try to bring as much understanding and patience to the project as I can.

Everyone has their own life to deal with, and sometimes unforeseen issues come up that delay the progress of this little horror comic book. 

What I can proudly say is we have consistently maintained progress for the entire duration of this project. This book is a passion project, and I think everyone involved can say they feel good about their experience working on it, and that's the type of creative environment I hope to nurture.

WHERE WE'RE AT NOW...

Long story short, we're working to get our Backerkit launched ASAP. The book is completed. All of the Digital Issues are finished. The Full Volume anthology is completed as well. All the creative assets are DONE.

I know we have faced many delays, but we really appreciate your patience. I think you will all love the final product.

Right now we are working out the technical side of delivering the product to you. I wanted to come in to give you an update to let you know we are working very hard to make this book release happen as fast as we can.

I want to give a big shout-out to my creative partner on this project, Gan Yimke, he is one of the founders of a group called Xymythology. You can find them online at:

Gan has been putting in hours and hours of work to get our book formatted and we would not have completed the 165 page volume without his diligent effort. Big Thanks to his work on this project.

Now we are taking the final steps to get this book out to all of you. 

You will be hearing from me again very soon with new details and information, but for now I wanted to check in and give you an update on where we are at.

The book is looking great! Can't wait get the reviews from all of our excited FOBIA readers out there.

THE END IS NIGH! Fobia is coming!

Greetings FOBIA backers!

It's been a long journey but we are almost across the finish line...

We want to say thank you to each and every one of you for your support and patience in the creative process of our wonderful horror anthology. We are so proud of the comic book we have created for all of you and we cannot wait to share it with you all.

Our book, FOBIA Vol: 1 is COMPLETELY Illustrated. Our page layout has been finalized. We have just a few finishing touches on the book... things like our backer "Thank you" page, and some final credits pages as well.

We truly appreciate everyone who has supported us as we have worked to make this book as good as it is. Soon you will be holding our book containing 16 stories, 8 issues and over 150 pages of horrifying comic book art.

FOBIA was created by a team of artists from all around the world - with illustrations, color artists and letterers hailing from South America, North America, Europe, and Asia. We have, at times, run into unique and unforeseen setbacks that have pushed back our delivery date back. 

Nevertheless we are quickly approaching the day when we will be delivering FOBIA Vol: 1 into the hands of YOU the backers. 

And we want to give a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who has been very kind a supportive with their words of encouragement and enthusiasm for our project. You have all made this an awesome experience.

Some good news!

Many of you have been asking if there will be a way to upgrade to the Deluxe Hardcover edition of FOBIA Vol: 1. This special edition was a a stretch goal that was unlocked in the final 12 hours of our campaign and a lot of our backers missed their chance to pick it up. 

We are happy to announce that we have found a great solution that will allow everyone to get the exact copy of FOBIA they want!

We have partnered with a pledge manager service called BACKERKIT. Using this service, we will soon be sending our our backer surveys. These surveys will collect the shipping information for everyone who backed a physical copy of the book. 

We will also be using Backerkit to offer ALL of our backers an opportunity to upgrade to the Deluxe Hardcover edition of FOBIA! 

And for those of you who selected to receive digital copies of our book, you will be provided those assets through Backerkit as well.

We are currently working with the Backerkit team to finalize our survey and make sure everything is running as smoothly as possible, but you can expect to start seeing those surveys go out this month. So keep an eye on your e-mail for more updates and information.

We know it's taken a bit longer than expected to get this book into your hands, but as you can see, we have some truly awesome horror comics cooking up.

We are very close to delivering our final product to all of you. We appreciate having you on board for this incredible creative journey.

Almost ready to go to print!

WE ARE ALMOST READY TO GO TO PRINT!!

Greetings Fobia Fanatics,

It's been a long and creative journey these past few months putting together this horror anthology. We are truly excited to show you all what we have been cooking up!

We wanted to give you an update on where we are at in the process because we know it has been a few weeks since you have heard from us.

To catch you up to speed, the comic is completely illustrated. We are finalizing the page layout and I'd say we are about 90% done. The final steps for us are relatively simple: some graphic design work, putting together the table of contents, and a few credits pages and title pages for the 16 amazing horror stories featured in the book.

One page we are truly excited to design is the "THANK YOU" page for all of you extra special Kickstarter backers who signed up for the special Add-On to have your name featured in the book. 

Don't worry, we haven't forgotten about you! 

We will be sending out a survey in the next few weeks so that you can tell us exactly how you want your name to appear in this special 1st printing of FOBIA: Vol 1.

Speaking of Surveys...

You may remember we offered a Hardcover Special Edition of Fobia: Vol 1 as a stretch goal.

This stretch goal was unlocked within 48 hours of our campaign ending and many people reached out and told us they would like to have upgraded to the Hardcover Edition, but they missed the very small window to grab it when the campaign was live.

So what do we do?

Well... we are currently exploring our options. It looks like our best course of action will be to send out surveys using a 3rd party company like "BackerKit" which will allow people to tell us which edition of the book they want, and offer our backers one more chance to upgrade to the Hardcover Edition if they so choose.

This is very important step for us. We have to pin the number down before we place our order with the printer. We want to know exactly who wants the softcover, and who wants the Hardcover Special Edition of Fobia: Vol 1 and we want to make sure we order enough copies of each version to fulfill all the orders.

We will also be offering one more chance to grab any of the extra add-on items, like the limited edition "Behind the Scenes" Zine featuring our scripts and comic book writing template, and a chance to add your name to the "Thank You" page for backers who want to be listed in the book!

At the moment, Finding the best way to implement these surveys is our top priority. Once we have this sorted out, we will be sending our order to the printer and you will all have your copy of Fobia in your hands in no time.

As of right now, we have not sent any surveys out but you should be hearing from us in the next week or so. 

Of course, we will keep you updated when those surveys go out.
